Green Star Rating Scheme
The good news is that ARC's reinforcing products can contribute towards your project achieving it's Green Star rating.
Green Star is a scheme developed by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) with the purpose of recognising and rewarding environmental leadership within the building industry. The credit which relates directly to steel is MAT-6 within the Office Design tool and MAT-5 in the other base building rating tools.
In April 2010 the GBCA updated the Green Star steel credit with new criteria and calculation methods, more information can be found on the GBCA website here.
ARC sources steel from steel makers that:
- Have a valid ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) in place
- Are a member of the World Steel Association's Climate Action Programme (CAP)
- Utilise Polymer Injection Technology
In addition ARC can offer:
- Products manufactured using off site optimal fabrication techniques
- 500 MPa steels, ACRS certified to meet AS/NZS 4671
