Our History

Woven through our eventful history is the basic belief that makes ARC a great company – respect for our employees, and service to our customers.

History is created by people – those who make their mark as individuals, and others who influence events through teams, corporations, governments and armies. Books and film tell us what they did, where they did it – and why.

This is ARC’s history – a tapestry of people and events that chronicles the company’s development from 1920 when it first opened its doors for business. It’s a history to be proud of, punctuated by economic depression, war and takeovers. Ninety years helping to build the fabric of Australia, and growing with the nation to become a mature performer on the world stage.
