The Perth Arena is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built entertainment, sporting and convention venue connecting the city’s entertainment and commercial centres. The project, with a retractable roof, car park beneath the arena floor and four levels of terraced spectator seating for up to 15,500, required complex reinforcing to a very high standard.

We used our prefabrication expertise and facility to produce two 10-metre-high, 130-metre-long ‘mega trusses’, weighing approximately 400 tonnes each. These were needed to support the arena’s retractable roof.

ARC worked closely with the building contractor BCG to manage the massive influx of steel to the site. This close working partnership resulted in very few issues with the production, supply, storage and documentation of the product over a two-year period.

Since opening with Sir Elton John in November 2012, over 2 million people have visited the venue for over 200 major events. The arena is now Western Australia’s landmark home of live entertainment, music and sports.
