Construction has begun on what is set to be Australia's largest wind farm which will have the potential to power approximately 390,000 homes annually.  Located 35 km west of Ballarat, Stockyard Hill Wind Farm comprises 149 Goldwind advanced technology turbines with a total capacity of 530 megawatts (MW).  The wind farm has the potential to harness one of Victoria's best wind resources and will provide a major boost for the local economy; delivering 300 jobs during construction and injecting more than $5 million into the local economy each year.

For the Stockyard Windfarm ARC’s Victorian project team used the latest in 3D modelling to efficiently plan and design a solution that delivers more than 7,000 tonnes of Australian reinforcing steel to the project.
