Straightline required reinforcing steel for their project, a 28 storey residential apartment building on Epsom Road, Flemington VIC.
The project consisted of 9 pour breaks for the raft slab due to the size of the site, yet needed to be completed quickly. We discussed the options with them and decided to use our innovative Rollmax® solution to greatly reduce the amount of time required for steel-fixing for such a large project.
Rollmax® (also known as Rollmat) are reinforcing bar 'carpets', prefabricated specifically to the requirements of the project. The reinforcement bars are fixed, at the required centres, to thin flexible metal straps and rolled around metal former wheels which provide a solid core to the Rollmax®, and eliminates any fear of collapse or crushing. Once on-site they were simply craned into position and then rolled out by hand.
This was the first residential project to use Rollmax and both the result and the feedback from Straightline were excellent.
