ARC Hobart Welcomes Master Builders Tasmania for a Behind-the-Scenes Tour

9

ARC Hobart recently opened its doors to Master Builders Tasmania (MBT) members and staff – including CEO Jenna Cairney, for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the branch. Our Hobart team were proud to give guests a firsthand look at how ARC supplies and supports the building industry, all while connecting and networking with fellow MBT members.

The afternoon included a guided tour, followed by an overview of our reinforcing products and value-added services supporting Tasmania’s residential, commercial, and civil construction sectors.

It was our pleasure to welcome over 25 Hobart builders and Master Builders Tasmania staff to our facility and share our innovative products, particularly LOKPOD® and SENSE 600®. Members were shown how their reinforcing products are supplied to their job sites, from humble beginnings as recycled scrap, all the way through Infrabuild’s integrated business to bent bar on a local ARC truck, ready for delivery. We’re proud of what we do, and it was great to bring it to life for MBT.” – James Harris, ARC Tasmania Area Manager.

The visit was also a moment to reflect on ARC’s contribution to Tasmania’s skyline. Having serviced the local market since the 1960s, few projects capture that legacy better than the new Bridgewater Bridge, which opened in 2025 – the largest transport infrastructure project in Tasmania’s history. ARC supplied over 12,800 tonnes of bar, 52 tonnes of mesh, and 1.6 tonnes of fencing for the 1.28km bridge spanning the River Derwent, connecting the suburbs of Bridgewater and Granton north of Hobart – a project that puts into perspective the role reinforcing steel plays in shaping communities for generations.

A big thanks to MBT and everyone who joined us on the day.
