ARC has installed two new steel processing machines, the F14 and Planet 22, as part of Stage 2 of the Hemmant facility’s expansion.

The investment will help increase production capacity, improve processing efficiency and strengthen ARC’s ability to meet the reinforcing steel needs of builders and contractors across Queensland.

More capacity to support local projects

With construction activity continuing across Queensland, access to reliable reinforcing steel supply remains important for builders and contractors managing project schedules.

The Hemmant expansion plan is designed to increase the facility’s annual despatching capacity from 25,000 tonnes to 45,000 tonnes, helping ARC support growing demand for reinforcing steel across residential, commercial and civil construction projects.

The new machines are an important part of that investment, helping the Hemmant team meet customer requirements as demand grows.

New equipment delivering results

Supplied by equipment manufacturer MEP, the F14 and Planet 22 machines are already delivering promising results.

ARC Senior Operator Andrew Denton, who has been with the business for 19 years, recently processed 17 tonnes of steel in just five hours using the new equipment.

Andrew described the machine as the best he has operated during his time with ARC.

The result highlights the benefits of combining modern processing technology with the experience and expertise of ARC’s operators.

Investing in reliable customer supply

The installation is the latest milestone in ARC’s ongoing investment in the Hemmant facility, with further upgrades planned as the expansion progresses.

By increasing processing capacity and improving efficiency, ARC is strengthening its ability to respond to customer demand and support the delivery of construction projects across Queensland.

For customers, the investment means greater local capability to meet demand, backed by an experienced team focused on providing the reinforcing steel they need to keep projects moving.
