Steel That Scores: ARC at the MCG

Did you know that ARC Laverton North is part of every goal kicked at the G? The locals term for the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) located in Melbourne’s east at Yarra Park.

This week marks Australian Made Week and as part of the celebrations, ARC was invited to the MCG for an event recognising the manufacture of the AFL’s official goal posts. These posts were created by Australian Made licensee Abel Sports and the network of local businesses that support the supply chain including ARC.

Our reinforcing cages have been holding up the hallowed posts at the MCG since 2019 and bringing some of our team back to the pitch to celebrate the local people, products and industries that helped bring the goal posts to life, while kicking a few goals of our own, was such a privillege.

Australian Made Week runs from 18 to 24 May 2026, encouraging consumers and businesses to look for the green and gold kangaroo logo when making purchasing decisions.

Consumers and businesses can learn more, discover Australian Made brands and get involved here at Australian Made Week.
